- Contact: [email protected]
I have been a pediatrician for over 25 years, I call Pediatric Medicine the medicine of empathy. My passion for Pediatrics has spanned three continents and over a decade of study and training. I started a non- profit Organization called Operation Medical care in 2011 which has completed 9 years of volunteer medical services to children locally and abroad, organized migrant medical clinics to help families who have no access to medical care and started a program called No child without health care fair. This annual program allowed to help children get ready for school with free school physicals. Dental care and vision screenings all getting them ready for school. In 2008 I was selected as a “PEDIATRIC HERO” by the American Academy of Pediatrics. I was also Conferred the “Key to Crestview” for the voluntary Medical services offered to the city and December 6th was declared “DR PETER’S Day” by the City Mayor. My Philosophy about taking care of children is taking care of the future of the country. (850)865-8746

During the past 23 years of pediatric practice in North Carolina prior to joining Austin Regional Clinic, I sub-specialized in the treatment of pediatric mental health and behavioral medicine, specifically in the area of ADHD, anxiety, depression, and medication management of autism. Each of these children and families have their own unique story and challenges, and I am blessed when I have the opportunity to help them along this journey to overcome their individual challenges and discover their own unique gifts and talents. I believe that active listening and involving both parents and children are the key to a successful relationship with my patients. I grew up in St. Louis, MO, played ice hockey, and am an avid St. Louis Blues and Cardinals fan. (336)687-2655

- Bernadine Peter
DIETICIAN
- Contact: [email protected]
I’ve been a dietician for over 20 years. I became interested in nutrition and dietetics as a young girl accompanying my mother to the market and seeing the power of good food transforming our lives into healthily lives. I pursed my undergraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics and went on to get a masters in public health with a focus on infant and children’s nutrition. I’ve worked in private practice, hospital dietetics, and community health. My life work has been centered around promoting healthy lifestyles for infants, children, and pregnant women. Community nutrition plays a big role in my life. A healthy community is a health society. I firmly believe that nutrition science is largely undiscovered, but we have made great strides. With a focus now on sustainable nutrition, the new dietary guidelines of plant-based diets with moderate animal products involve keeping our diets rich in healthy fats will be the focal point of the next few years. I’ve been involved in ROG for a number of years now, and I feel that it will be a great tool to help parents understand their child’s nutrition needs in a very simple and easy manner. (251)264-9851
